Xiaojie
Dr. Xiaojie Wang
Post Doctorate Fellow

Dr. Xiaojie Wang holds a B. Eng degree in Fluid Mechanics from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. He also has a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, and the University of Nevada, Reno, respectively. Dr. Wang has six years research experience at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, and more than ten years research experience in the field of ER/MR fluids and related devices. Currently, he is a post doctoral fellow at CIML and is involved in several research projects on mechatronic material systems that utilize field response materials.
   
Yanming
Dr. Yanming Liu
Research Faculty

Dr. Yanming Liu has received his Ph.D. in Automatic Control Engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. He has more than 15 years of theoretical and experimental experience in controls and electromechanical systems. In the last 6 years, his R & D has been focused on the advanced control on structural and electromechanical system. He has one book and more than 50 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings. His research activities have been funded worldwide. He is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Senior member and an American Society of Mechanical Engineers member.
   
Huseyin
Mr. Huseyin Sahin
PH.D. Student

Huseyin graduated with a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1996 from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Turkey. He received his M.Sc. degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1999 from ITU He started his Ph.D. in Turkey. Thereafter, He became a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering Department at UNR. He has been involved experimental and computational studies on MR fluids and devices at the CIML.
   
Joseph
Mr. Joseph Whiteley
Masters Student

Joseph graduated with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University in 1995. He moved to northern Nevada to start employment at Bently Nevada Corp. and raise a family. While currently employed full time as a lead engineer on a product development team at Bently (now GE Energy), Joseph is involved in experimental research relating to MR fluid characterization on a microscale level at the CIML.
   
Gokan
Mr. Gokhan Aydar
Masters Student

Gokhan received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2004. He started his Master Degree at the University of Nevada, Reno shortly after graduating from ITU. He is studying permanent magnet design for MR damper devices.
   
Sreeram
Mr. Sreeram Mantripragada
Masters Student
Sreeram has been a Research Assistant with the CIML team since Spring 2005. He obtained his Bachelors degree from Andhra University, India. Sreeram is currently pursuing his Masters degree at UNR. He is current research is on MR fluid dampers and fluid characterization.

Mr. David York
Masters Student

David graduated with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universityof Nevada Reno in May of 2005. His current research is related to MR fluid dampers.
   
Mert
Mr. Mert Caglar
Masters Student

Mert Caglar graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yildiz Teknik University in Istanbul, Turkey in 2002. Before coming to the University of Nevada, Mert worked for a large holding corporation in Turkey for 2 years. Currently, Mert is pursuing his master's degree and is researching MR fluid applications in clutch design.
   
Pramod

Mr. Pramod Raja
Graduate Student

Pramod Raja graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India in 2004. He has worked for Cleanroom Technologies, India for a period of 2 years. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree at the University of Nevada, Reno.

   
Jonathan

Mr. Jonathan Buescher
Undergraduate Student

Jonathan is currently an undergraduate mechanical Engineering student at the University of Nevada, Reno.   Originally from the Sierra foothills in California he has worked at the CIML since May 2006.  His research interest and focus is in MR elastomers and durability testing of MR devices.

Ms. Cheryll Go
Undergraduate Student

Cheryll came to the University of Nevada from San Jose, Ca.  She is a mechanical engineering major, minoring in economics.  Prior to the working as a research assistant in the CIML, she worked as a research assistant with the resonating nano-sensors project.
